Intramural Research Training Award

This is a fellowship for recent college graduates who would like to take a year or two off before enrolling in graduate or medical school. It allows the individual to work in a research lab at the NIH full time, gaining an intensive experience in how research is conducted. Opportunities for taking courses at the FAES Graduate School are also available.

Summer Research Opportunities for Undergraduates through NSF

NSF funds a large number of research opportunities for undergraduate students through its REU Sites program. An REU Site consists of a group of ten or so undergraduates who work in the research programs of the host institution.

Summer Internship Program in Biomedical Research

The summer intern program at the National Institutes of Health offers an opportunity for undergraduates to develop experience in biomedical research at one of the top research institutions in the world. Summer internships last for 8 to 10 weeks and are available at the NIH campuses in Bethesda, Frederick, and Baltimore Maryland.
